Asda and Swisslog celebrate 10 years of partnership
16 April 2024
THE TWO companies have released a video to mark the occasion.
Since the collaboration began in 2013, Swisslog and Asda have established a strong and long-lasting relationship. Over the years, it has evolved into a strategic partnership characterised by shared goals, mutual respect, and a commitment to excellence.
Asda IDC operations manager Tom Spooner, says: “When we work on site, we are one big team. The benefits of the automation speak for themselves, but the relationship we have with Swisslog brings its own benefits. There’s a real collaborative feel about the way that we work, and that’s what makes the difference.”
Swisslog regional system operations manager Ed Smith takes up the story.
“In 2013, we won the contract to deliver an AutoStore grid at the Asda IDC in Lutterworth. Then, in 2014, we received the contract for the SO support team that we currently have on-site, which includes all the maintenance and servicing of the equipment. We then won a contract in 2015 to expand the AutoStore grid.”
The newly released video showcases the journey of the partnership, offering viewers a glimpse of the innovative automation solution, AutoStore, in action. It provides an inside look at the collaborative efforts between Swisslog and Asda, highlighting the milestones achieved and the challenges overcome over the past decade.
