Kier Property has secured planning for a warehouse in Bracknell which will be developed as part of its £400 million Logistics City and Trade City joint venture with PGIM Real Estate.
By Liza Helps, Property Editor Logistics Matters
THE LOGISTICS City Bracknell scheme will see the development of a 104,000 ft2, warehouse with grade A first-floor offices. The development will target BREEAM Excellent and net zero carbon in operation with an EPC rating of A+.
The building will incorporate a range of sustainable features designed to reduce the operational costs of the building including solar panels, 15% rooflights, LED lighting, a building management system (BMS), efficient heating/cooling and market leading thermal insulation values. The development will also adopt the use of sustainable construction materials, Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points, landscaped employee breakout spaces and cycle storage facilities.
Kier bought the 5.15 acre site in July last year following the agreement of the joint venture in February 2022.
The joint venture is looking to acquire sites in key urban areas and strategic logistics locations to develop them under Kier’s successful Logistics City and Trade City brands. It is progressing with a variety of sites including one in Bognor Regis consisting of 8.9-acres at Saltbox Business Park and one at Knowsley Business Park in the North West, where the venture has been selected on a 28-acre site. Further sites include Andover, Milton Keynes and St Albans.
Kier Property is being advised by CBRE and Hatch Real Estate.
