PROPOSALS FOR the scheme go before St Helen’s Council planning committee this week with planning officers recommending the scheme for approval.
Known as Millfield Park the scheme is set to consist of eight units ranging from 19,084 ft2 to 496,496 ft2 which will be built to target BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating.
There has been proposals for a slightly larger scheme consisting of 10 units but these have since been scaled down with eaves heights dropping on the largest unit from 21m to 18m.
Millfield Park is located to the west of Haydock Industrial Estate which is situated within a recognised location for major distribution facilities in the North-West. The site is strategically located at the intersection of the A580 and Junction 23 of the M6 motorway.
St Helens council had designated this site as suitable for development and employment use. It was removed from the Green Belt under its Local Plan.
