Expanded single-use plastic alternatives
21 November 2024
The new paper strapping and document enclosed wallets will help businesses to cut single-use plastics.
FOR ECOMM and logistics businesses seeking to replace single-use plastics with more environmentally responsible products, two new additions to the Antalis Packaging range offer a significant step towards that goal.
Paper strapping is a 100% recyclable and biodegradable replacement for traditional plastic strapping. With a breaking strain of 70kg, it’s strong. It’s also safer to handle than traditional plastic or metal strapping and, importantly, it is compatible with traditional strapping machines for a seamless transition.
Paper-based documents enclosed wallets are secure, waterproof and cost-effective. With a self-adhesive backing, they are quick and easy to apply. Unlike traditional plastic wallets, paper-based document enclosed wallets can be recycled along with the carton – there’s no need to separate them first – helping to deliver a better customer experience. They’re available in plain or printed options and in A4, A5 and A6 sizes.
Packaging Product Manager at Antalis, Amy Skingsley, comments: “While plastic still has an important role to play in certain types of packaging, reducing reliance on single-use plastics where possible is an important criterion when we are exploring new products to add to our range. Paper strapping and documents enclosed wallets are great innovations that we’re excited to be able to offer our customers.”
