Follingsby Park warehouse set for go ahead

Gateshead councillors are set to give the green light for an 80,000 ft2 warhouse at Legal & General’s 110-acre Follingsby Park Industrial Estate in Tyne & Wear.

PLANNING OFFICERS have recommended that the warehsoue be granted planning permission at the Council’s Planning & Developmwent meeting this week.
The application relates to a 4.06 acre vacant development plot (Plot B) located on the Follingsby Park Industrial Estate, close to the border of Gateshead with South Tyneside and Sunderland. The site currently comprises unmanaged scrubland.
The proposal envisions an 80,000 ft2 facility with 75,7000 ft2 of warehouse space with 15m eaves and 4,300 ft2 of Grade A two storey office space. There will be six dock level access doors and a 40m yard.
Outline plans for the new warehouse were approved in 2019.
