The company is looking for a Logistics & Last Mile Network Design manager to ‘lead the design and implementation of an efficient, scalable, and customer-centric delivery network’ and has posted a recruitment advertisement on LinkedIn.
The role involves strategic planning of parcel transit points, sortation locations, transportation methods, and delivery routes, ensuring cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and superior customer experience.
JD.COM was one of the under bidders for parcel company EVRI earlier this year getting to the second stage of negotiations before it was sold to Apollo for £2 billion.
Only last month Logistics Matters reported that JD Logistics, a subsidiary of JD.COM, would double its overseas warehouse space by the end of 2025.
According to Statista research the company had 1,600 warehouses in 2023. Currently the company has one operational warehouse in the UK at Magna Park Lutterworth, known as MPS2. The company is actively searching for more warehouse space in the UK.
