Large-scale ASRS for textile wholesaler
18 July 2024
THE GERMAN firm Erwin Müller has installed a shuttle system, automating processes for incoming goods and adding 130,000 storage bins, as well as picking workstations.
FORTNA was commissioned for the project which went live in December 2023. Erwin Müller managing director Tobias Eder wanted ‘greater capacity and more flexible fulfillment’.
The implementation consists of a new building with a main incoming goods centre and a shuttle and dispatch system connected to the existing building via a bridge.
The new building will operate as a central warehouse for all items that can be ordered via the catalogue and online shops.
The shuttle warehouse, with 16 aisles, now provides an additional 11,000 sq m of usable space.
