Seminars

Looking at the content in a bit more detail, we will tackle four key topics in our sessions. Dealing with rising operational costs is an obvious imperative for all supply chains. That’s what we will tackle in our operating session with UKWA chief Clare Bottle outlining what you can do to save money ion the warehouse. ArrowXL has an amazing story, with the firm bouncing back from a disastrous fire in 2017. We have Jeff Turner, Head of Strategic Projects at ArrowXL to outline his learnings on resilience and cost control. We know that people are the main cost in the warehouse and that tech is often considered an alternative to people. Gary Twynholm, from  Link Logistics Services, is a former Global Logistics Manager with Mountain Warehouse and will bring the experience has has gained in many warehouse installations to bear on the issue of how technology can help redefine the role of people in the warehouse. After all, happy people boosts retention and slashes recruitment costs.

Rounding off this session, our speakers will be joined by Damien Skinner, UK Country Manager, HAI Robotics; and Brian Moss, Head of Energy Regulatory Affairs at Kingspan to take your questions in a stimulating discussion panel

Warehouse automation

Session 2 looks at automation and robotics. We recognise this as a key product area, and will have John Wilson, Technology & Innovation Director, Europe, for tech-led logistics firm GXO Logistics, delving into the rise of accessible automation and its potential to transform the supply chain. We also have Dionne Redpath, Group Chief Operating Officer, Europa Worldwide Group, talking about how its large-scale fixed automation installation at its Corby warehouse led to a step change in its operations. Gavin Harrison, UK Sales Director, from headline sponsor Element Logic will also present on looking deeper when deploying automation to solve underlying problems in the modern warehouse.

Exciting plans for 2024

We are expanding the Tomorrow’s Warehouse Event due to massive demand to both attend and exhibit.

Castle Donington

After lunch, we will look at Warehouse Software, with James Carter, Network H&S Manager, Marks & Spencer talking about how AI software tools have helped M&S to reduce incidents by 80% in less than 10 weeks at its massive highly-automated distribution centre at Castle Donington.

M&S will be jointed by innovative consultancy Hatmill and its CEO and Founder Simon Dixon for this session. Again, the session will feature a discussion panel with Ian Abbott, Director Solution Development, Dematic, and Rob Ward, Process Consultant, TGW ready to answer your questions and offer insight.

Warehouse of the Future

We are delighted to welcome Cold Chain Federation CEO Shane Breannan for our Warehouse of the Future session, and he will discuss how the future cold store will play a key role in the UK’s route to Net Zero by 2050. Shane will be join by Will Laing, Logistics Analyst from Savills, who will outline how the UK warehouse property market is changing, and will provide valuable insights that can inform how you should approach the tricky issues of where to base new properties and what to look out for. Chris Wallis, National Business Development Manager, Kingspan will join Will and Shane on the discussion panel to answer your questions on the Warehouse of the Future.

Networking

As well as learning in a relaxed environment, the Tomorrow’s Warehouse Event represents a valuable opportunity to network with hundreds of your peers. At last year’s event, job titles represented included warehouse managers, logistics managers, operations directors and more; and we had people from companies such as Warburtons, Martin Brower, Tesco, Ralawise and Nestle, to name but a few.

Take charge

We know it has been a crazy and hectic time for warehousing over the last few years. The aim of the show is to shed some light on the trends that are continuing to impact your workplace, and how you might best adjust your operations to excel in the future.

After all, we may talk Tomorrow’s Warehouse at the event, but it will be you, and people like you, that carves the future out with your investments, hard work and strategic decision making.
