Real-time visibility

24 November 2023

Q&A with Oana Jinga, CCO and Co-Founder of Dexory.

What is your company’s USP?

Dexory’s solution, DexoryView is a combination of proprietary hardware and software to provide warehouse operators with accurate, real-time visibility on inventory and operations inside the warehouse, at the click of a button. The Dexory consists of the autonomous robots capturing data around the warehouse and the most important part, the digital twin platform that analyses and compares the data. We are the only company in the world that brings the two together.

What industry sectors do you target?

We work with industries that have logistics as the heart of their business.

These include logistics & supply chain, as well as manufacturing logistics, but we also partner with industries such as cargo handling, retail & e-commerce and food & beverage.

How is Dexory helping respond to the industry’s challenges?

The logistics industry lacks resources to attract and retain good employees. We understand it is now the top priority in the warehouse sector. Utilising automation to digitise the more tedious and repetitive tasks, Dexory’s aim is to enable warehouse staff to focus on key operations, enhancing their role. Moreover, our technology can capture unprecedented levels of data insight using AI and provides companies with information to forecast and plan more accurately, improving their efficiencies, and having smarter management of their workforce.

What is the latest news from your company?

Dexory’s global partnership with Maersk is expanding into the Maersk and iB Cargo managed site in Romania, a distribution centre for a top home furnishing brand globally. The Bucharest deployment is the first of many outside of the UK to go live with the innovative technology, as part of the company’s expansion across Europe.

Dexory has also won two awards at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards - Warehouse Initiative Award in collaboration with Menzies Aviation and the Geek+ Supply Chain Visibility Award in partnership with A.P. Moller - Maersk.

CASE STUDY: Transforming Maersk’s logistics with Dexory’s real-time, automated insights solution

Maersk is an integrated container logistics and supply chain services company. Providing end-to-end logistics, Maersk is working to connect and simplify its customers’ supply chains, operating in 130 countries with over 100,000 people.

Maersk now has autonomous robots operating in warehouse facilities in Kettering and Tamworth UK.

THE CHALLENGE

Maersk recognises that for the future of warehousing, there are many ways in which processes can be optimised. In this regard, the use of new technology, removing the need for repetitive tasks and enabling staff to focus on key operations, using space wisely and more profitably, whilst attracting and retaining employees is central.

As a customer-centric organisation, it is vital for Maersk to stay at the forefront of innovation within the supply chain and offer their customers the opportunity to test the latest solutions as they are developed, especially as global demand and the complexity of supply chains increase.

Dexory’s robots and data visualisation platform will work together to help Maersk measure, track and locate goods across every logistics step, from inbound to storage to outbound. With the vision to connect, protect and simplify their customers’ supply chains – bringing profound opportunities to harness the power of new technologies, testing and scaling innovations is pivotal to Maersk.

Providing the solution

The robots and data visualisation platform work together to help Maersk measure, track and locate goods across every logistics step, from inbound to storage, picking to outbound, WMS (warehouse management system) stock records, Dexory reconciles inconsistencies and closes that data loop.

After a few months of collaboration:

• 40+ hours/week saved by automating cycle counts

• Full inventory checks of entire warehouse daily vs. once every 2 weeks

• Inventory accuracy improved to 100% in a few weeks

• + 8 hours/week saved looking for misplaced/ missing goods

• Boost in customer satisfaction with 100% of orders in full, on time

The shared vision for the use of technology and the data collected to drive better business decisions is about making life easier for humans rather than replacing them from operations.
