Staffordshire logistics site up for planning

STRATEGIC LAND promoter Richborough Commercial is set to submit plans for a 1.5 million ft2 industrial and logistics scheme in Staffordshire.

The greenfield site southwest of Stone totals 192- acres and adjoins Stone Business Park just north of Stafford, located just off the A34 and 10 minutes from Junction 14 of the M6 motorway.
Richborough exchanged a promotion agreement for land in October this year and is set to submit plans fort eh new logistics development shortly..
The site will provide for the increasing demand for Industrial & logistics and manufacturing space both in Staffordshire and nationally.
Richborough Commercial Group Director Nick Jones said: “Richborough Commercial is delighted to have secured this high quality site in this strategic location capable of providing much needed employment opportunities in the in the 1.5 million ft2 that the land can deliver.
“We are undertaking the promotion work required to submit a planning application at the earliest opportunity. This follows on from the signing by Richborough of the northern element of a potential western arc for Stone, earlier this year.”
Campaigners against the development are already in action with a petition signed by 600 having already gained support for their cause from Stone MP Sir Gavin Williamson, local and county councillors as well as the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
