UK industrial door merger
04 July 2022
TWO LEADING suppliers of industrial doors are merging their UK operations into a new entity as they target future growth.
Nassau Industrial Doors is becoming part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, bringing together two of the UK’s leaders in industrial access. From of 1st July 2022, Nassau formally joined with ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, creating ASSA ABLOY Industrial Door Solutions.
John Burton, managing director of the newly merged businesses, says: “Our new name reflects the merger of two leading suppliers in the industrial door market. By combining our joint skills and capabilities we can offer the most comprehensive portfolio of products in the UK, and draw on extensive operational excellence delivered by both brands.”
The enhanced product range includes UK-manufactured industrial roller shutters, as well as both ASSA ABLOY and Nassau brands of overhead sectional doors. This is complemented by high-speed and specialist application doors and docking products.
“We will support ASSA ABLOY and Nassau products with our 24/7/365 after-sales care, which includes a large national network of service technicians, fully trained on the entire product portfolio,” adds John. “In addition, we are further enhancing customer service with a dedicated UK spare parts centre, located in Stoke-on-Trent, which will go live in the third quarter of 2022.”
The companies
Nassau Industrial Doors was founded in 1970 to supply, install and service high-quality industrial, commercial, and retail door systems. Its products are ISO 9001:2015 approved and Nassau is a member of the Door and Hardware Federation, Constructionline, CHAS, and SAFEcontractor.
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems Ltd has been operating in the UK since 1967 under the separate product brands of Crawford and Albany. These brands were brought together in 2011 as a single legal entity rebranded as ASSA ABLOY. Its full range includes directly manufactured sectional doors, high-speed doors, roller shutters, dock levellers, dock shelters, vehicle restraint systems and hinged doors – including fire and security rated steel leaf doors.
The company has built an impressive reputation in the market by providing an innovative and broad product portfolio to deliver cost-effective and reliable solutions for convenient, safe, secure, attractive, and sustainable entrances. ASSA ABLOY was formed in 1994 through a merger of ASSA in Sweden and Abloy in Finland. It has grown into an international group with approximately 51,000 employees and operations in over 70 countries.
“We are proud to be extending the ASSA ABLOY family,” said John. “This will give our customers even more choice while also benefiting from the added strength that comes from being part of a global entity. The establishment of our new spare parts centre is a demonstration of that strength and of ASSA ABLOY’s commitment to the UK market.”
