Q&A with AR Racking Storage Solutions.
Brad Kilian
Q What is your company’s USP?
A AR Racking’s USP lies in our ability to offer bespoke and technologically advanced industrial storage solutions, tailored to the specific needs of each client. We specialise in maximising warehouse space efficiency through optimised design, modular structures, and fast, precise installation. Additionally, we have a technical team with extensive international experience, which allows us to guarantee high-quality service in any market.
Furthermore, our expertise is backed by strong investment in R&D, which has enabled us to develop safer and more resilient storage systems. Our products are certified by the highest European quality standards, which provides our clients with confidence in terms of safety and durability. We distinguish ourselves by maintaining close relationships with our clients and our ability to understand their logistical challenges.
Q Tell us about your recent innovations?
A In recent years, we have introduced key innovations in our automated storage systems, such as the "AR Shuttle", which optimises pallet management in high-density environments. This automated system reduces warehouse operation times, improves accuracy, and minimises errors. We have also worked on developing racks with greater load capacity and strength, without sacrificing the flexibility and adaptability of our products to different sectors.
Q What industry sectors do you target?
A Our expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including automotive, food and beverages, retail, and the pharmaceutical industry. Each of these sectors has very specific logistical needs, and AR Racking specialises in adapting our solutions to meet these requirements. For instance, in the pharmaceutical sector, we work on solutions that meet high safety and temperature control standards, while in the automotive industry, our systems enable the efficient handling of large volumes of parts.
We also have a strong presence in the e-commerce sector, which has grown exponentially. This market demands highly efficient stock management and the ability to process orders in record time. Our high-density storage systems, combined with automation, are ideal for these types of operations.
Q What are you doing to meet sustainability objectives?
A AR Racking is committed to sustainability through the Living Sustainability Project, driven by the Arania Group. This project promotes sustainable practices in the economic, social, and environmental spheres, improving the quality of life and the environment within our operations.
We have also adopted renewable energy in some of our facilities, such as the installation of photovoltaic panels, and we’ve improved energy efficiency through management systems that reduce electricity consumption. We adhere to international standards like ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management, and we invest in the innovation of sustainable products, such as green steel, which will be developed and ready to use in our projects in the coming years, reducing its environmental impact.
Q How important is technology in modern warehousing and logistics?
A Technology is absolutely essential. Nowadays, warehouses cannot operate effi ciently without a strong technological component.
From automated storage and retrieval systems to real-time inventory management software, technology is transforming the way businesses manage their warehouses. AR Racking is at the forefront of integrating technological solutions that allow our clients to optimise every aspect of their operations.
The use of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence is revolutionising the sector. The ability to predict demand, more accurately control stock, and optimise picking routes is directly linked to the use of these technological tools, and at AR Racking, we are leading the way towards smarter warehouses.

SUCCESS IN HANN. MÜNDEN: AR RACKING FINALISES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS PUSH-BACK SYSTEM FOR NORDFROST
The commissioning of the AR Live Storage LIFO system improves the effi ciency of logistics processes in existing warehouses and maximises capacity in freezing conditions.
In a commercial relationship that combines innovation and efficiency, AR Racking has successfully completed its latest collaboration project with Nordfrost GmbH & Co.KG to optimise the refrigeration logistics processes.
NORDFROST is a family business based in Schortens and German market leader in frozen foods logistics. NORDFROST has 40 deep- freeze warehouses throughout Germany, and offers comprehensive and customised logistics solutions for the food industry, food retailers, and importers and exporters.
“This project is a test of the ability of our solutions to meet the specifiic requirements of deep- freeze logistics”, said Kai Thiemann, Key Account Manager for AR Racking Northern Germany. “We are delighted to have been able to generate operational improvements for our customer with the successful implementation of the LIFO AR Live Storage system”.
The project was completed in 2 phases. The fi rst phase of the project covered an area of 840 m². This allowed NORDFROST to use the system in a partial area and to start to store immediately. In the second phase covering an area of 630 m², a further stage in the modernisation of the system was successfully completed.
The successfully implemented project complies with stringent cold storage standards and demonstrates the flexibility and performance of the AR Live Storage LIFO system.
“The new push-back system complements our logistics processes at the plant and allows for better use of existing storage capacity”, commented Oliver Kellner, director of the NORDFROST subsidiary in Hann.
