Tilt indicator
To help overcome problems caused when forklift operators do not have sufficient view of the forks to be fully in control of their position, AEC Designs is marketing a mast tilt indicator that can be installed quite easily to all makes of forklift truck. Called ‘ForkAngles’, the device shows clearly at what angle the forks are set.
Double stacking advice
Double stacking of pallets doubles the effective storage area and transport, however incorrect double stacking brings about increased risk.
Accurate alignment counts
Damages are often caused when the operator fails to accurately align the forks or attachment with the load. Sideways alignment is determined by steering the truck, which is a skill that can be easily taught, and any errors can be corrected by using side-shift.
Feedback on mast-tilt position
While forklift operator training is designed to teach the safest and best practises which should minimise the risk of accidents, in the real world the drive for higher productivity can put pressure on operators to bend the rules.
Don’t drive faster, drive smarter
It is widely accepted that increasing forklift operating speed increases the likelihood and potential severity of accidents, so is it possible to work faster without compromising on safety?
