Online retailer invests over 40 million euros in automation

THE INVESTMENT represents one of the biggest installations of an AutoStore system in Europe, covering approximately 8,000 sq m and will be operated by more than 400 robots.
Czech e-commerce retailer, Alza.cz is investing more than 40 million euros in the development of its latest logistics centre, located near Prague.
It is the largest investment in the company's history. In addition to expanding the existing area by another 15,000 m2, it will implement AutoStore technology, empowered by Element Logic. The solution will boost the warehouse efficiency and shorten delivery times.
Alza’s investment represents one of the biggest installations of an AutoStore system in Europe, covering approximately 8,000 sq m and will be operated by more than 400 robots. The system will be equipped by more than 40 inbound and 30 picking stations. Flow of goods will be ensured by a conveyor system with a length of 2,500 metres.

During the integration, new processes such as automated storage and automated packing will be implemented to decrease the manual packing of goods, reducing the use and waste of packing material.
