Food manufacturers are increasingly catering to retailers' wishes for order picking at branch level. NAWI develops logistical solutions for crates and pallets which make that possible, these include automated turn key solutions.

"We have developed a number of concepts for delivering crates and pallets to assembly lines, for collecting them and for storing the crated semi-manufactured and finished products in automatic warehouses," says sales director, Alfred Klunder. "The market is showing a marked interest in our systems for order picking crates at branch level, as this gives producers the opportunity to cut the retailers' logistical costs; the retailers need do no more than cross docking.
