CargoWise, a provider of technology solutions for logistics service providers, has implemented the first phase of its fully-hosted ediEnterprise platform for Senator International, one of Germany's largest privately owned 3PLs.
Senator International's offices in Switzerland are now operating on the ediEnterprise platform, in the first phase of a roll out which will ultimately cover more than 1000 users across the globe.
Founded in 1984, Senator International provides logistics support for air & sea cargo, logistics warehousing, 4PL, packaging, supply chain management, customs clearance, event logistics and express services.
With offices in Germany, Switzerland, UK, Netherlands, USA, Latin America and Asia, Senator International has a strong global presence which will be strengthened as the implementation of the ediEnterprise Platform is expanded.
CargoWise's ediEnterprise Platform was selected following a competitive tender due to its capacity to support Senator's existing global presence and provide a strong and sophisticated technology backbone for future global expansion.
Senator managing director Tim-Oliver Kirschbaum said that the Go Live of Senator's Swiss operation was really a proof of concept. “The main reason Senator opted for the CargoWise solution in late December 2011 was a desire to gain globally a deep level of business process integration, and comprehensive functionality for the whole logistics value chain within a short time frame. These expectations were fulfilled by the fast and really straight forward implementation in Switzerland. We will now continue the global roll-out according to our very ambitious plans.â€
Simon Clark, VP business development Europe for CargoWise commented: “We are very excited to see the successful implementation of the first sites in the largest roll out of the ediEnterprise platform hosted by CargoWise. Our global platform and will provide Senator International with reliable and cost-effective technology to meet its growth objectives and requirements.
“Senator International has rightly recognised the simplicity and cost savings of a hosted solution over conventional license/on premises models, and we look forward to supporting the company's continued global expansion. By selecting a hosted Cloud based platform, Senator has again established itself as a technology leader in the logistics industry.â€
