Electrical firm to boost warehouse space to 100k sq ft
14 December 2015
TV and white goods retailer Marks Electrical is trebling its warehousing space to meet growing online demand.
The £25 million-a-year business is moving from Forest Business Park, in Bardon Hill, to a 100,000 sq ft warehouse on the Scudamore Road Industrial Estate, just outside Leicester, reports the Leicester Mercury.
The company has bought the site and will be moving on January 1, after spending around three years looking for a suitable site.
Owner Mark Smithson said: "Finding somewhere freehold is very difficult. During the recession they stopped building new units so prices are high."
