Voice innovation meets logistics IT
09 June 2016
Ehrhardt + Partner Group (EPG) has expanded its product portfolio with Lydia Voice Suite in a partnership with topsystem. EPG is primarily known for the supply chain execution system LFS and now has a majority stake in topsystem, the developer of the Lydia product.
By bringing the voice-controlled processes system into its portfolio, EPG is seeking to expand its position as a comprehensive solutions provider. Together with topsystem, the aim is to tap deeper into the international market and strengthen the global partnership network.
"Lydia is the leading technological system when it comes to voice-controlled processes," says Marco Ehrhardt, managing director of EPG. "Its innovative capabilities tie in perfectly with our international strategy and range of products. It enables us to offer all EPG clients and partners a unique comprehensive solution to optimise their logistics."
In taking over topsystem, EPG is now represented in 14 locations. For clients and partners in the UK this means: local on-site support from EPG teams for all logistics projects, support in the expansion of partner networks, as well as for the certification process to become a Lydia Solution Partner.
The Lydia Voice Suite is already used worldwide. With Business and Enterprise versions, EPG offers a solution tailored to the requirements of individual countries. Lydia is already available for use in a mobile Business version on all voice-compatible mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. The Enterprise version comprises a combination of Voxter and Lydia VoiceWear: The conventional headset is replaced by an order-picking vest, which offers improved ergonomics by working to a hands-free principle when order picking.
Vision is another field covered by the Lydia Voice Suite: The Lydia SmartWatch and Lydia data glasses have already been put into use by a number of clients. The software is speaker-independent, ensuring that long training periods are not required.
The range of services offered by LFS by EPG covers: LFS.wms for intralogistics management, the material flow controller LFS.mfc, LFS-tms transport management solutions, the LFS.pm pick manager for voice-controlled picking and wireless data-transmission solutions, warehouse planning and consulting services, hosting, cloud services and warehouse seminars as part of the LFS.academy.
