Double edge stretch film

Packaging film manufacturer Duo Plast is reported to be setting the trend in load unit securing with the development DDK stretch film.

A particular feature of the DDK film is the double edge – for example a 15 micron stretch film has a thickness of 30 micron at the edges. The innovative double edge surrounds the pallet like a net and makes it very stable, while also resulting in savings on material.

In fact, it is claimed that a reduction of material consumption of more than 30 – 35% is not uncommon when using the DDK-film. Consequently lower packaging costs and lower disposal costs are the result. Conservation of resources and protection of the environment are further advantages of the unique film innovation.

A further innovation from Duo Plast is the company Duo Lab business segment. The German Technology Centre for Load Unit & Cargo Security checks, develops and audits load security concepts for dispatchers, logistics companies and institutions. Real transportation loads are simulated by using latest testing technologies. The goal is a neutral and individual optimisation of load securing concepts, which can be recorded in a report and also certified on request.

The focus of the analysis is always the perfect load securing concept for the customer. So not only packaging costs, but also the entire total cost of ownership are reduced, while safety on European roads rises.
