Leeds-based Union Industries has fitted a heavy duty Eiger Door to assist with temperature control between a freezer and storage area at the Midland Bacon Company’s site in Walsall.
The Eiger, which is finished in grade 304 stainless steel to meet hygiene and wash-down requirements of the site, opens at approximately 1.6m per second, and closes automatically after a short dwell time which allows for continuous traffic flow without compromising the freezer temperature.
Its high speed opening and innovative dehumidification process reduces moisture ingress into the freezer, which prevents ice build-up on the door blade, frame and workings, and helps eradicate snow and ice forming around the opening and on the floors.
