Warehouse manager puts faith in Bendi

Fast growing pharmacy supplier is won over by Bendi’s ability to boost warehouse storage capacity.

Ethigen was founded in July 2000 by pharmacist, owner and MD Nigel Kelly to provide independent pharmacies in Scotland with a personal, efficient, reliable and professional service.

With a rapidly growing business and product range to match, effective materials handling is a very important part of company operations according to warehouse manager

Paul McCourt.

“Our diverse range of products and packaging means that we need an efficient means of storage,” he says. “We originally went with 3 wheel counterbalance trucks from another brand for our main warehousing application and also had the luxury of additional space to allow for future expansion.

“However, the continued business growth meant that within only a few months we needed to store more stock. This necessitated a re-evaluation of current operations and the Bendi was selected to maximise this storage space for the additional stock pallets which gained Ethigen an extra 50% capacity compared to using three wheelers.”

Ethigen operates a Bendi three-wheel articulated forklift, which can work in an aisle of 1.6m and can lift to 9m.
