Doors are good to go in ‘food-to-go’ sector
Poultry firm Benson Park used Union Industries on a chill store extension, with two Matadoors fitted to help the food company meet strict temperature control and hygiene standards.
Benson Park operations director Jason Key says: "We are delighted with the functionality of the Matadoor, in particular the Crash-Out system that ensures that operations will continue to run smoothly in the event of a collision with the doors."
Benson Park was recently acquired by the Cranswick Group and the project at the Hull site is its first venture in to the cooked chicken sector. The new extension has increased capacity by 30%.
The Matadoor is ideally suited for internal openings with high volume traffic, whether for forklift trucks, pallet trucks or personnel with trolleys and carts. Its fast opening and closing operating cycle ensures that as little of the cold as possible escapes when gaining access, meaning energy savings and cost reductions in refrigeration.
In common with the other doors in the range, the Matadoor features Union’s highly-regarded ‘Crash-Out’ damage protection facility which ensures that they remain operable if the bottom beam is hit by a speeding vehicle. This proven system, which has been a central attribute of Union’s doors for over 25 years, drastically reduces repair costs and guarantees minimal downtime if the door is impacted by traffic such as forklift trucks.
Paul Chable, senior technical sales engineer at Union Industries, says: "The Matadoor has gained an excellent reputation in the chilled food production and storage industry. Its durability and speed make it the perfect door for busy areas that require a consistent temperature to be maintained."
