Linde looks ahead to IMHX
Linde Material Handling will examine the future of logistics at IMHX 2016, which takes place in September.
Andrew Daly, director – commercial operations UK, provides a preview of what attendees can expect from Linde.
“Building strong customer partnerships through the provision of efficient, cost effective services and improved flexibility is a key focus for us at Linde. The products and themes we’ve decided to showcase this year have been carefully selected to align with our customers’ needs. Large exhibition spaces like IMHX give us an ideal platform to demonstrate the full breadth of our innovation simultaneously to our customers.
“At IMHX we plan to focus on the strength of our products, services and network. Innovation is at the core of what we do and when it comes to product development, Linde is setting new benchmarks in energy efficiency, performance, digital systems and customer partnerships. Linde is looking forward to the future of logistics."
Some of its latest innovations, showcased at its 2016 World of Material Handling event, include expansion in the availability of lithium-ion and hydrogen powered trucks and the new Linde Roadster an electric counterbalanced forklift truck with increased visibility by the removal of the A-column and panoramic armoured glass roof. Linde is also building up a strong position as a provider of flexible automated solutions under the roof of Linde robotics.
“Customers are always looking for efficiency from their operations, whether that is fuel efficiency, improved pick rates or reduced servicing requirements. However, we are seeing the increase use of telematics and data analysis to drive efficiencies and this is in turn driven by our customers increasingly complex supply chain. So whilst the industry focus shifts and the solutions we offer change our core message remains the same – Linde continues to understand and best meet customer’s needs now and in the future with the latest technological advancements," concludes Andrew.
This year, Linde’s apprenticeship programme stand will be located in IMHX’s inaugural Skills and Apprenticeship zone, launched to highlight the benefits of apprenticeships in the industry.
Aftersales director for Linde Material Handling UK, Mark Sullivan, said: “Last year we received a record number of applications for our apprenticeship scheme. This shows young people perceive them to be really useful for career progression. Each year we're seeing apprentices reaping the rewards, learning new things and setting themselves up for a fantastic future in the materials handling industry.
"As a business, it's so important for us to invest heavily in future generations, and create a highly diverse and skilled workforce. Participating in the Skills and Apprenticeship Zone enables us to demonstrate the role we can play in harnessing talent. We're delighted to be part of it, and can't wait to meet eager youngsters who are keen to learn more and ultimately build a rewarding career in this thriving environment.”
