Animated Tool Box

This was all part of finding engaging ways to communicate with their staff to ensure information is read and remembered.  After a number of possible routes were considered, an animated approach was chosen. This choice was built on years of research that points to cartoons being able to help people both engage with and remember what’s on screen.  

And so an animated character, affectionately called “TC”, was introduced. The character along with friends host a series of Toolbox Talks, bringing a serious message but with a dose of fun.

Less than 12 months on, almost 20 Talks are now available and are a finalist in Tomorrow’s FM 2017 awards.

Peter Clay, training & development manager, TCFM said: “The feedback we are getting regarding the Toolbox Talk videos from across the business has been very positive and has proved to be a great way of making sessions such as our initial training more fun and less formal. This is particularly important with regards to providing them with extra information on how to handle a variety of work related situations safely and effectively.”
