THE PARCEL freight group secured the property late last year from Federated Homes following the refurbishment of the building to secure an EPC A rating.

The facility is expected to "significantly increase" the company's capacity in the region improve operational efficiencies, reduce carbon emissions and  enhance customer service level. It replaces a smaller DX Express depot in Claydon.

DX Group chief executive officer Paul Ibbetson said: “The new depot will enhance our position in Suffolk, increasing the capacity and capability of our parcels operation.

"It will deliver further efficiencies to our operations and provide enhanced local customer service benefits, a priority for the group.

“Enlarging and improving the depot network underpins the continued successful delivery of our growth plans over the short to medium term, and we look forward to reporting on further openings over the forthcoming months.”

Coke Gearing and Savills were joint letting agents.
