THE SCHEME, to be known as Trade City, will provide around 98,000 ft2 of logistics space across nine units, ranging from 5,391 ft2 to 34,584 ft2.
The £26 million development will target BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings.
Formerly owned and operated by electrical manufacturing company Electrium (part of Seimens) the site has been vacated owing to Electrium’s withdrawal from the wiring accessory market from the end of 2025.
Savills marketed the site within the Sharston Industrial Estate, for sale on a long leasehold basis. The lease is from 6th March 1998 for a period of 200 years, with the current ground rent at £24,200 plus VAT a year.
Kier Property intends to redevelop the site and the demolition of the existing buildings is currently under way with a works programme due to complete in winter 2025; which will leave the site ready for construction for the new development to commence in early 2026.
The scheme will contribute to the more than 6.7 million ft2 already delivered under Kier Property’s Trade City and Logistics City brands in the UK.
