eCommerce and Warehouse Transformation
In our first session, Tom Killeen, Chief Operating Officer, THG Brands at THG emphasises the power of operations. Operations come first, says Tom as he dives into a recent comprehensive consumer study encompassing 40 million records carried out by THG showing how warehouse operations can be the driving force behind business success. You can learn a lot from Tom as THG has deployed one of the world’s largest AutoStore systems, is implementing sorting robots at the moment, and develops its own software to maximise the benefits of any technology installation.

Next up in this session is Adam Coventry, who spent 20+ years at Boots, most notably as Director of Warehousing and is well versed in the use of automation and robotics to make a sleek logistics operation fly at an enterprise level. He asks, why are SMEs struggling to implement mobile robotics when the tech is there? Adam explores obstacles from personnel to integration, expertise and more, as well as suggesting ways forward.

Automation
The second session continues to explore the crucial themes of automation and transformation in the warehouse. Adrian Ancliff, Head of Operations, Bilstein Group UK presents on leading a warehouse transformation project. Drawing on his long experience of carrying out warehouse optimisation projects, Adrian Ancliff outlines his insights on how to lead on warehouse transformation, covering issues such as integrating solutions from different providers, ensuring staff are on board and aligning logistics capability with business goals.

Georgina Bowell, Global R&D Project Manager for the Automation team at GXO Logistics will outline a short, mid and long term vision of technologies and their impact in warehouses. This will help inform your own journey through technology in the warehouse.
Women Navigating Logistics
In this inspirational session, a logistics undergraduate, a recent graduate, and the Managing Director for Air & Ocean in the UK & Ireland at CEVA Logistics come together to share their personal stories, challenges faced, and milestones achieved in one of the world’s fastest-paced and vital industries.
The session will feature: Megan Lynch, Transition and Transformation Degree Apprentice, CEVA Logistics; Sian Coley, Operations Manager, CEVA Logistics; and Debbie Godkin, Managing Director for Air & Ocean UKI.
From early aspirations to executive leadership, the trio will relay how their experiences reveal the evolving landscape of logistics and the powerful role women are playing in shaping its future.

Forklift Safety
There is nothing more important than safety in the warehouse. With this in mind, Health & Safety Accident Impact Speaker Lisa Ramos presents in the next session.

Health & Safety Accident Impact Speaker Lisa Ramos
Lisa Ramos was working in a warehouse when she was struck by a forklift. Here, she discusses the short and long term physical and psychological impacts, as well as the knock-on impact on her family. Lisa’s partner Dave Garton co-presents. This session is hosted by UKMHA Chief Executive Rob Fisher. Attendees will gain valuable insights into warehouse safety and never overlook forklift safety again.

It can be complicated but the ideal warehouse contract takes into account the contrasting needs of both landlord and occupier. From an occupier’s perspective, what points do you need to consider when entering a negotiation? Matthew Williamson provides insights.
