THE CHARITY which operates by rescuing surplus food from local food suppliers that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it to more than 400 charities, food banks and community groups – from Gloucester all the way down to Cornwall.
The charity is seeking a temporary warehouse because the building which they currently operate out of in Ashton Gate, Bristol, rent free with the support of Bristol Sport, is set to be redeveloped.
In a report by local paper Brstol24/7 yesterday, the charity appealed to local business who may be able to help to get in touch.
The food parcels provided by FareShare SouthWest help some 1,000 families alone across Bristol and there is particular concern in the lead up to Christmas.
In the Bristol 24/7 report FareShare South West CEO, Lucy Bearn is quoted: “Our winter parcels project acts as a lifeline to more than 1,000 families across Bristol. But more than this, it spreads joy, bringing a sense of occasion to families and communities.
“We are urgently appealing for temporary warehouse space in Bristol this November to enable us to run this special project that means so much to so many in our city and beyond.”
The charity is looking for warehouse space of between 3,000-4,000 ft2, available and accessible Monday-Friday 8am-5pm for 3-4 weeks throughout November 2025. It must have articulated lorry delivery access, with parking in a flat yard, shutter access to the warehouse, food safe flooring with a load capacity of 15kn/m2 including using pallet truck.
In addition it is looking for yard space to store equipment, pallets with the ability to organise waste suppliers on site and to have media within the warehouse, and up to 20 staff and volunteers each day.
