Door supplier opens Barnsley distribution centre

Door supplier JB Kind has opened at new distribution centre in Barnsley taking Wilton Development’s 77,804 ft2 Unit 2 facility at Enterprise 36 in Tankersley.

THE NEW facility doubles JB Kind’s previous storage capacity to circa.74,000 ft2 and can hold some 80,000 doors. It boasts a 73,561 ft2 warehouse with 10m eaves as well as six dock and two level access doors served by a 40m yard. In addition, it has 4,243 ft2 of Grade A  offices..

Operating on an extended double shift basis and supported by an automated scanning and picking system, the site is designed to speed up picking, packing and dispatch – allowing customers to select a prompt delivery day when placing their orders.

The distribution centre also delivers strong environmental benefits with a 15,000 ft2 roof top solar array installed generating around 130,000 kW of electricity annually – reducing CO₂ emissions by 26,000kg and cutting energy costs by 50%. It has been constructed to achieve a BREEAM Very Good and EPC A  rating.

Enterprise 36 is located within 1 mile of Junction 36 of the M1 Motorway
