Chinese property company snaps up Wigan warehouse for refurbishment
Chinese e-commerce conglomerate JD.com’s property arm Jingdong Property advised by developer Prime Box is set to refurbish the circa.330,000 ft2 ASDA regional distribution centre in Wigan following its acquisition this week.

JINGDONG PROPERTY intends to undertake an extensive refurbishment of the unit raising its EPC to an A rating while also upgrading the power supply to 3MVA.
The 31 year old property has 110,614 ft2 of ambient warehousing alongside 20,856 ft2 of ambient storage loading in addition to two chilled storage areas totalling 111,614 ft2 with 12m eaves. It benefits from two yards with depths of 52.5m and 42m, 28 dock and six level access doors.
It is located on the Wheatlea Industrial Estate with direct acces to the A49 Warrington Road linking Newton le Willows and Wigan. It is close to Junction 26 of the M6 motorway.
Rock Real Estate and ACRE Capital Real Estate LLP advised the purchasers, and Colliers acted for the vendor.
