Reach truck sets the standard

Posted on Thursday 5 March 2026

Not content with releasing one innovative product, Jungheinirch has launched several significant handling solutions across a variety of forklift segments, as well as flagging up a major product for 2027.

THE ANNOUNCEMENTS cover the range of material handling equipment, from a new reach truck, to a new automated pallet lifter, a refresh of the counterbalance truck range, as well as a sneak peak at a high voltage, high power counterbalance truck which is set for release next year.

ETV4i reach truck

Looking first at the reach truck segment, Jungheinrich has unveiled its highest performing model to date – the ETV4i. The truck is

aimed at users with high handling requirements, such as in distribution centres, production supply, or multi-shift operations. With load capacities ranging from 1.4 to 2.5 tonnes and lift heights of up to 14 metres, the ETV4i covers a wide range of applications.

The truck is said to have the highest lifting and lowering speeds on the market, targeting customers for whom every second counts in the warehouse.

The key performance feature of the ETV4i is its exceptional dynamics in the lift mast. Various PRO functions are included as standard: liftPRO doubles the lifting speed to up to 1.5 m/s without load. The loweringPRO function doubles the lowering speed to up to 1.2 m/s. With reachPRO, reach speed is also significantly increased, saving additional time, especially when pallets are moved frequently. In addition, tech on the truck will automatically adjust the speed to the height and load, to go as fast as possible while maintaining safety.

The sensitive control of the hydraulics, with semi-automated auxiliary functions, ensures a smooth mast transition and high process reliability even at maximum speed.

The fully integrated lithium-ion battery serves as the technological foundation of the ETV4i. It enables extremely short charging times and flexible intermediate charging, eliminating the need for battery changes or long charging breaks. This increases the availability of the vehicle, especially in multi-shift operation.

Thanks to its very compact vehicle design, the ETV4i is ideal for narrow aisles and is consistently engineered for efficient space use in the warehouse. The ETV4i is available now.

Rounding out the reach truck range is the ETV2i – for low and medium intensity applications and the ETV3i for medium. The ETV3i was launched in February last year, has sold around 3,000 units and also features LoweringPRO.

Mobile Robot EAC 212a

Moving now to automated pallet lifters, Jungheinrich has launched the Mobile Robot EAC 212a, an autonomous solution for high-lift applications. The high-lift vehicle has a travel speed of up to 6 km/h, has a load capacity of 1,200kg, and is designed for automated storage and retrieval processes up to 1,200mm.

The robot supports reliable and cost-efficient material flow and reduces manual interfaces at transfer points, increasing process stability and system availability.

The EAC 212a is equipped with AI-based 3D pallet detection that reliably identifies and handles load carriers even in the event of positional deviations. Offsets of up to ±100mm and torsion of ±10° are automatically compensated for.

The EAC 212a offers exceptionally low implementation effort thanks to contour-based navigation using natural environmental features, via LiDAR sensors. The EAC 212a is designed for mixed operation alongside people and manual industrial trucks. A 360 degree safety sensor system continuously monitors the vehicle’s surroundings.

Projects can start with only a few vehicles and be expanded as required. Over-the-air updates enable the continuous development of functions and additional use cases. Market launch is scheduled for the second half of 2026.

EPG 5 counterbalance trucks

With the EFG 5, Jungheinrich is launching the next generation of its electric [the supplier has discontinued IC trucks] counterbalance trucks in the 4.0 to 5.0 tonne load capacity range. As the successor to the previous series, these trucks round out the counterbalance truck portfolio at the top end and represent a consistent step forward in performance, availability, and safety – designed for maximum goods handling in heavy, intensive indoor and outdoor applications.

The new EFG 5 is a powerful electric counterbalance forklift designed for heavy-duty applications. With a load capacity of up to five tonnes at a load centre of 500 or 600mm and lift heights of up to 7,500mm, it completes the upper end of the Jungheinrich heavy truck portfolio. It is aimed at customers in the industrial, building materials, beverage, and automotive sectors who have often relied on combustion-engine vehicles to date. The new series enables fully electric heavy truck operations across multiple shifts without any loss of performance, thanks to a robust vehicle design, high power reserves, and drive technology tailored for intensive applications.

A redesigned drive and hydraulic concept ensures up to 15% higher handling performance. High driving dynamics, even under full load, are enabled by two powerful drive motors with high torque and a top speed of up to 20 km/h. The new energy-efficient Synchronous Reluctance Lift Motor Plus (SRM+) ensures fast storage and retrieval processes and also significantly accelerates lifting and lowering movements.

Faster, more precise working movements with attachments are enabled by an increase in hydraulic oil flow of around 33%. This means that even large attachments respond quickly and can be moved with controlled precision, even under heavy loads. The launch of the new EFG 5 series is planned for the third quarter of 2026.

FalcOn counterbalance truck

Jungheinrich also unveiled one for the future, the high-voltage FalcOn counterbalance truck. The counterbalance truck is based on the EFG Series 5 and was developed to test the integration of high-voltage technology under realistic conditions.

The FalcOn is said to offer a glimpse of the next stage in the development of electric heavy-duty forklifts. The vehicle, with a load capacity of 5 tonnes and a load centre of 600 mm, demonstrates the performance and application potential that high-voltage technology can unlock in material handling in the future.

The focus is on application scenarios in which electric forklifts have previously reached their limits – such as with heavy loads, long inclines or continuous outdoor use in demanding climatic conditions. This is precisely where the FalcOn comes in, addressing industries such as beverage, building materials and automotive supply logistics, where combustion engine vehicles still dominate today.

The FalcOn can be charged with direct current and charging capacities of up to 150 kW via an automotive-compliant CCS-2 interface. In practice, this means that a time window of around 30 minutes is sufficient to charge the battery from around 20 to 80 per cent, a decisive advantage for high-frequency multi-shift applications with short downtimes.

The FalcOn is designed for a load capacity of 5,000 kilograms with a load centre of 600 millimetres. Combined with very dynamic acceleration and a driving speed of up to 26km/h. It also has a lifting speed of 0.6 m/s under load.

Jungheinrich relies on a fully integrated drive concept for the FalcOn. At its heart is an actively cooled high-voltage system in which all central drive components are water-cooled. This keeps the power output stable even under high continuous loads and high outside temperatures, without the power limitations typical of electric forklifts.

Added to this is a sensitive drive concept with individually controlled wheel motors. This architecture, familiar from the automotive sector, enables very precise response and reversing behaviour, thus contributing significantly to high productivity during frequent direction changes and demanding manoeuvres.

The company is preparing the next stage of the project, in which selected customers will be involved at an early stage of the further development of the heavy-duty electric forklift truck with high-voltage technology.

AntOn

At the launch event, there was much else that stood out, including Jungheinrich’s purple AntOn trucks (produced in a strategic partnership with EP), targeted at the fast-growing mid market sector, with pricepoints circa. 50% that of premium forklifts. It shows both Jungheinrich’s confidence in its ability to add value to mid-market trucks through servicing, as well as its confidence in its own premium forklifts, as outlined above.

All products are on show at LogiMAT.
