Work starts on second phase of Preston industrial and logistics scheme

Origin, a joint venture between HBD and Feldberg Capital, has started construction on the second phase of APTUS, bringing forward a further 107,000 ft2, after it acquired part of the scheme in December 2025

APTUS IS a £100million GDV industrial and logistics development close to Junction 31A of the M6 motorway and is being delivered in joint venture by HBD and Barnfield.

Once complete, APTUS will provide a total of 790,000sq ft of sustainable I&L space and is expected to create up to 1,500 new jobs.

Work is already well underway on phase one, with a 145,000 ft2 manufacturing facility being developed by Kerakoll. Phase two will see Origin deliver a further three units between 26,507 ft2 and 53,841 ft2.

Barnfield Construction is building the three units on behalf of Origin.
