In warehouse and distribution centres, reliable performance drives efficiency. Employees in fast-paced environments need solutions that deliver stability, speed and precision — and adapt to every application.

CROWN’S ESR Series Reach Trucks are engineered precisely for these demands. They combine robust design with advanced technology to boost productivity, save energy and provide targeted support to operators in their daily work.

It begins with the mast

At the centre of the ESR product family is an exceptionally stable mast design. Constructed from high-strength steel, it minimises deflection, enabling quick, precise load placement and lift heights of up to 14.2 metres. This significantly improves process reliability, for example, when storing goods in tightly packed high-bay racking systems. Compared with previous models, the ESR Series offers up to 36% greater mast stability and impressive residual capacities of up to 1,200 kg at lift heights of up to 12 metres. With modern camera technology, forklift operators can work smoothly and precisely at significant heights. Experienced operators can further increase throughput with the ESR Series.

Xpress Lower can boost productivity

The optional Xpress Lower function is a key performance advantage. It doubles the mast’s lowering speed, delivering productivity gains of up to 21%. No additional energy is consumed in the process. Instead, the energy released during lowering is fed back into the battery. This means that Xpress Lower not only improves throughput but also extends the equipment’s service time. Combined with Crown’s regenerative braking system, energy consumption can be reduced by up to 11%.

A real-world example from the Netherlands shows the impact that faster lifting and lowering processes can have on day-to-day operations. At Decostar, a Dutch home décor wholesaler, Supply Chain Manager Bastiaan Vosselman reports: “What really stands out is how fast the pallets can be lifted and lowered. It saves a lot of time because the trucks spend much less time in front of the racks. Our highest racks are over 11 metres tall, and the faster handling adds up to significant time savings quickly.” By implementing Xpress Lower, Decostar increased pallet handling productivity by 18%. Where previously each reach truck moved around 185 pallets per shift, throughput increased to 219 pallets thanks to Crown. This delivered five-figure cost savings in the first year alone.

In addition to stability and speed, assist systems play a vital role in everyday workplace safety and efficiency. Alongside proven solutions such as Auto Height Select and residual load capacity monitoring, Crown recently introduced another intelligent feature: ProximityAssist. Using LiDAR sensors and smart vehicle software, the system detects obstacles in the truck’s travel path and automatically reduces its speed. This promotes defensive driving and minimises the risk of collisions.

Designed for exceptional operator comfort

The reach trucks’ highly customisable ergonomics are also designed for consistent everyday use. For example, the fully adjustable seat, operator controls, armrest and display can all be ergonomically adapted to suit individual operators’ preferences. This results in reduced physical strain while improving precision during demanding high-level operations. The offset clear-view mast and the optional panoramic overhead guard improve visibility of both the forks and the load, as well as upward visibility, supporting controlled, safe handling.

Connecting people and machinery

When integrated with the end-to-end InfoLink fleet management system, the Gena operating system provides clear information for managers and operators alike. Warehouse managers can easily monitor and optimise the performance of their truck fleet. For operators, the truck becomes a reliable partner. For example, a range of individually customisable widgets in many languages ensures a data-rich, personalised user experience. Dynamic coaching also promotes proper equipment use and compliance with safety rules.

In addition, the Gena system is designed to simplify the implementation of technologies tailored to specific application needs, with on-demand wireless updates. This technology ensures that truck fleets stay scalable in the long term. Crown‘s Gena operating system also enables lift trucks to serve as a central hub for combining operational data and real-world insight on best practices (data & talent) to utilise machine learning, which will have a major impact on intelligent solutions of the future.

Highly integrated energy solutions

The ESR Series energy management system unlocks new efficiency potential. Crown’s V-Force energy solutions are designed to ensure that lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries and compatible chargers work together optimally to enhance truck performance. Harmonised components reduce the need for maintenance requirements, improve charging safety and lower overall operating and energy costs. Analysing performance helps select the ideal combination of battery and charger for each specific application.

With the ESR Series, Crown demonstrates how durable, ergonomic, and technologically advanced industrial lift trucks can sustain high-performance material handling — today and well into the future.

An ESR reach truck delivers real performance: Xpress Lower technology can double lowering speed, increasing throughput and productivity.

In warehouse and distribution centres, reliable performance drives efficiency. Employees in fast-paced environments need solutions that deliver stability, speed and precision — and adapt to every application.

With a reach truck from the ESR Series, operators can work with skill and precision at any height without compromising productivity.

The ESR Series offers extensive customisation options and helps operators complete tasks with precision and confidence. Operators can tailor their seating and control position to optimise handling, visibility and workflow.

The use of lithium-ion batteries supports flexible opportunity charging and, in combination with regenerative lowering, can deliver energy savings of up to 30%.

Crown’s ProximityAssist system actively reduces travel speed as the truck approaches a detected object, promoting safer driving behaviour.
