Shoebox Picker wins piece picking robotics innovation of the year
Nomagic, a leader in warehouse automation, has been named “Piece Picking Robotics Innovation of the Year” at the 2026 SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards.

THE WIN recognises Nomagic’s breakthrough Physical AI solution, which automates the historically challenging task of shoebox picking.
Shoeboxes account for 20% of fashion eCommerce items but were previously deemed “unpickable” by traditional robotics. Nomagic’s Shoebox Picker overcomes this using advanced VLA models and its “Library of Chaos” dataset, achieving 98% SKU coverage.
“This award validates our Physical AI approach,” says Kacper Nowicki, CEO of Nomagic. “We deliver high reliability and throughput for critical industry use cases.”
Following this success, Zalando is scaling the technology, installing 50 AI-powered robots across its fulfilment centres. The Shoebox Picker processes 450 boxes per hour, up to three times faster than manual picking.
