PROLOGIS HAS bought an 8.66 acre regeneration site on Barton Dock Road and plans to build an all-electric 200,000 ft2 BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A+ rated facility subject to planning approval.

The acquisition marks a further step in Prologis latest UK wide growth ambitions – where it plans to invest some £5.5 billion going forward on the back of the £5.6 billion the company has invested in the UK over the last decade.

In the Northwest alone, the company is forward-planning considerable new investment through new development, regeneration and acquisition in order to develop up to 5 million ft2 of prime logistics space.

Prologis UK Regional Head Paul Weston, said: “The North West is one of the UK’s most important logistics markets, and Trafford Park gives us an excellent foothold in a region that has been identified as a strategic priority. This acquisition builds on our long-term commitment to the UK and demonstrates how foreign direct investment can fuel long term economic growth.”

B8 Real Estate acted for Prologis, Cushman & Wakefield for the vendor on the Barton Dock Road site.
