THE E-COMMERCE specialist has taken Origin Future Logistics (HBD & Feldberg Joint Venture)’s BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+ rated Unit A facility, which totals 249,938 ft2. The property featured as a Logistics Matters Shed of the Month in January this year.

The facility boasts 18m eaves, as well as six Euro dock doors in addition to 20 dock and four level access doors and an expansive 55m yard with parking for 52 HGVs. There is a separate 3,230 ft2 two storey transport hub centrally located with showers and space for driver amenities.

According to planning documents submitted in July this year Relay will operate the facility as a tech-enabled logistics and parcel distribution hub.

Relay has experienced significant growth driven by increasing demand for its e-commerce delivery services and the securing of new customer contracts. It now handles more than 200,000 parcels each week across the UK. It works for online retailers such as Vinted.

The overall 620,000 ft2 SPARK scheme is being brought forward by the HBD Feldberg joint venture Origin Future Logistics and consists of two phases; phase 1 which has seen the development of Unit A as well as Unit G, a 18,233 ft2 mid box facility which is set to be occupied by EON Energy Solutions, and phase 2 which is currently under construction. Phase 2 will see the development of four units ranging from 24,348 ft2 to 62,463 ft2.

Joint letting agents are Cushman & Wakefield and BOX4 Real Estate

Relay’s growth has also been supported by Prologis Ventures, the venture capital arm of Prologis, which invests in innovative companies helping to shape the future of supply chains, logistics and real estate.

Earlier this month Logistics Matters reported that Relay had nearly doubled its warehouse space at Prologis’ Prologis Park West London.
