DPD Ireland is investing €10m in a second distribution hub at Gateway Logistics Park, Newlands Cross, Dublin, creating more than 200 jobs as parcel volumes keep rising.

THE HUB will use 270 autonomous robots in place of conveyors, allowing up to 10,000 parcels an hour to be sorted. It is due to be fully operational by October 2026.

The new roles include drivers and operations and administration staff. The expansion is driven by growth across next-day delivery, logistics services and Out of Home solutions.

Des Travers, chief executive of DPD Ireland, said the growth was a direct result of the 99% service level the company delivers. He said: “This new hub strongly positions us to meet rising parcel delivery demand and ensures that we continue to provide the high level of service that our customers expect, year-round.”
