Antalis confirms that on 18 September 2026, it acquired the assets and trade of Ovenden Papers from its administrators, strengthening its presence in the UK paper merchanting market and bringing the business and its customers into the Antalis network.

Ovenden Papers will continue to operate under the family name, supported by Antalis in the UK & Ireland. The acquisition includes the business’s customer relationships, employees, premises and relevant operational assets, enabling Antalis to provide continuity while it undertakes a detailed review of the business and its future development.

In the immediate term, the priority is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity of supply and service for customers. Antalis will work closely with employees, customers and suppliers to provide reassurance and minimise disruption as the business becomes part of the Antalis Ltd organisation.

The acquisition provides an opportunity to build on Ovendens’ assets, combining the business’s established market knowledge and customer relationships with Antalis’ wider product portfolio, distribution network, technical expertise and resources.

Nick Thompson, regional managing director, Antalis UKI, commented: “While it is disappointing to see a long-established business such as Ovenden Papers LTD enter administration, we are pleased to have been able to acquire its assets and trade and provide a route forward.

“Ovenden Papers has established customer relationships, experienced employees and valuable market knowledge. Our immediate priority is to provide stability and continuity for customers, suppliers and employees while we undertake a detailed review of the business and its operations.

“We see opportunities to build on the strengths of Ovenden Papers and combine these with Antalis’ product portfolio, distribution network and wider resources. We look forward to working with the team and customers.”

Antalis will provide further updates as the transition progresses and the initial operational review is completed.
