Davies Turner acquires 130,000 sq ft logistics hub near Heathrow
The firm has acquired a newly completed 130,000 sq ft logistics hub near Heathrow Airport, which will become the new headquarters of its air freight division, Davies Turner Air Cargo.

THE FACILITY sits less than two miles from Heathrow’s cargo terminal and 500 yards from Junction 14 of the M25. It is one of the most significant property investments in the independent freight forwarding group’s recent history.
The building comprises around 70,000 sq ft of high-specification warehousing with a 12.5-metre clear internal height, plus two mezzanine floors providing a further 50,000 sq ft of operational space. It has five dock-loading doors and two level-access loading doors, along with 10,000 sq ft of Grade A offices.
The site has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification and carries an EPC A+ energy rating.
The move comes nearly 40 years after Davies Turner took on some of the operations and staff of the collapsed Rockwood International Freight to launch Davies Turner Air Cargo.
James Wheatley, managing director of Davies Turner Air Cargo, said: “This acquisition represents a major milestone for Davies Turner Air Cargo and demonstrates our long-term commitment to the UK air freight market. Heathrow remains the country’s premier international cargo gateway and this strategically located facility provides an exceptional platform from which to support our customers’ future growth. The investment gives us the capacity and operational flexibility required to continue developing our services for many years to come.”
The facility is being prepared for occupation, with an official opening scheduled for later this year.
