M&S begins recruiting for automated Lichfield fashion distribution centre
M&S has started recruiting the first wave of staff for its new fully automated fashion distribution centre in Lichfield, which is set to open next year and will eventually employ 600 people.

MORE THAN 70 vacancies are now open on the M&S Careers website, covering management and operational posts as well as specialist roles such as technicians. Further roles will be advertised in the coming months ahead of launch.
The 437,000 sq ft site will add capacity to M&S’ existing 24/7 distribution network, allowing it to process and move orders more quickly from suppliers through its distribution centres and on to stores or direct to customers.
The investment is part of a supply chain transformation that underpins M&S’ ambition to double online sales of fashion, home and beauty.
David James, supply chain and logistics director for fashion, home & beauty at M&S, said: “Our new Lichfield hub will mean we can better serve our customers, delivering M&S fashion faster than ever before. As we get closer to launch, building the right team is crucial.
“In our first phase of recruitment we’re looking for those who enjoy the fast pace of logistics and are keen to play a role in our exciting transformation journey.”
