The Works taps overflow capacity to prep for peak
The Works is using overflow warehousing from LTS Global Solutions to free up capacity in its main distribution centre ahead of Black Friday and Christmas, as the retailer grows its store estate.

THE RETAILER stores stock that does not need to be immediately available at LTS’ 131,780 sq ft facility in Hams Hall, Birmingham, which sits on the same distribution estate as its own site. This means stock can be transferred quickly as requirements change, giving The Works extra capacity without a permanent expansion of its own warehousing footprint.
The partnership, now entering its third year, has become more important since The Works closed its transactional website in March 2026 to focus on its 508 stores. The retailer is targeting 560 stores by 2030.
Adam Bialasiewicz, head of distribution at The Works, said: “Our partnership with LTS provides the flexibility to position stock outside of our core distribution operation while retaining rapid access when required. This allows us to maximise throughput within our primary distribution centre and respond quickly to changes in demand.
“This year, global supply chain disruption and changes to shipping schedules meant that some inventory arrived earlier than originally planned. Having access to flexible overflow capacity enabled us to bring stock into the UK at the right time without creating operational constraints within our own facility.”
LTS recently completed a £500,000 racking expansion at the site.
