Applique and collect
28 June 2024
M&S has launched a remote clothing repair service with consumers able to send off damaged clothes and receive them repaired.
THE SERVICE is part of the firm’s sustainability plan but will increase parcel volumes if it takes off. M&S is partnering with clothing repair and alterations firm SOJO to offer the service via a dedicated online hub.
M&S Customers will be able to select and book a range of bespoke repair services - from zip replacements to invisible knitwear mending through an online form. Repairs start from £5, and M&S clothing can be sent, repaired by SOJOs in-house repair team and returned directly to the customer doorsteps within seven to 10 days.
The ‘M&S fixed by SOJO’ hub - launching in August - will support M&S customers to give their M&S clothes ‘Another life’ and reduce textile waste, a key pillar of the retailer’s Plan A roadmap to drive the circular economy. The partnership builds on the retailer’s established clothes donation scheme with Oxfam, which has collected over 36 million items of clothing raising an estimated £23m to tackle poverty around the world.
