Improve efficiency by reducing downtime
18 January 2024
Q&A with… Andy Rainforth, Chief Commercial Officer, A-Safe Group.
What is your company’s USP?
A-SAFE’s passion for problem solving and driving efficiency is what sets us apart.
We’re building the future of workplace efficiency through technology. Our solutions improve efficiency by reducing downtime, allowing facilities to put people where they’re most useful – not just where they’re needed. A-SAFE technologies remove the non-business value added tasks by reducing the time-sapping, more mundane processes, ensuring your people are utilised in the most streamlined way for your business.
We have almost 20 years’ experience in the industry, and have been pioneers from the beginning. We’re not stopping now!
We continue to create solutions that boost efficiency, reduce operational expenditure and, of course, keep people safe.
What challenges do your customers face and how are you helping them respond?
From our experience, and our conversations with customers, there are two main challenges facing our customers, automating processes and the recruitment gap.
Automating processes
A number of tasks in logistics can be time consuming and laborious. They can take people a long time to complete, taking them away from tasks that are more useful to your business, reducing your facility’s overall efficiency.
RackEye allows customers to find the issues with their racking and deal them immediately. The days of the lever arch file, gargantuan spreadsheets and monthly racking inspections are over. RackEye’s instant impact detection and cloud-based technology means that you can create standardised processes, not just across one facility, but all your facilities around the world. This solution drives efficiency by reducing the amount of time people have to spend on regular racking inspections, irradicates the need for manual data entry and allows real-time visibility of all racking safety.
Our solutions help your facilities run efficiently, while keeping your people and assets safe.
The recruitment gap
It’s no secret that the logistics industry is struggling to recruit and retain staff. In 2022, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport reported that 86% of companies were experiencing staff shortages in the last two years. That means less people doing more work, a problem that be solved by utilising the latest technology.
Our products mean customers can put people where they need to be. By reducing the amount of people needed to carry out a task, customers have reported increased efficiency.
This is the perfect example of technology and people working together, racking inspections are optimised, freeing up trained, knowledgeable individuals to work on areas that benefit the business at its core.
What is the latest news from your company?
We’ve seen huge growth in demand for RackEye, with global brands using the technology to boost their facility’s efficiency.
Customers report increased efficiency and reduced operational expenditure. The problem of warehouse efficiency solved, we’re moving onto the next challenge. We’re currently looking for new ways to boost customers’ efficiency and ROI.
After launching Safeguru last year, we have seen phenomenal growth. This expansion is continuing throughout 2024, bringing high quality PPE and workwear to customers across UK, Europe and beyond.
What does your company have planned for 2024?
At A-SAFE, we’re always looking for new opportunities, innovation and new creative solutions.
In 2024, we’re building on our huge successes this year. RackEye is just the beginning, we’re continuing to grow our technology offerings, while continuing to provide the world-leading safety solutions that we’re known for.
