Industrial solutions from Ecobat Battery
06 November 2024
Providing practical and business efficient solutions to everyday power storage problems is one of the major benefits of working with Ecobat Battery.
AS WELL as being the UK’s largest battery distributor, Ecobat has more than 70 years of battery power storage experience and a team of knowledgeable professionals who can not only work with its customers to define the ideal product solution, but can also provide the necessary back-up and service arrangements to keep it in peak condition.
As logistics businesses will be well aware, keeping a forklift fleet fully functional and on the go, requires the most efficient charging regime to ensure each vehicle is ready and available to put in a full shift, whenever it is a called upon.
Fronius is not only a recognised brand, with a great reputation, it is also one of Ecobat Battery’s business partners, and therefore its products regularly form part of the overall power storage packages that the company proposes.
TagID guided charging
Of the many products in its portfolio, the new Fronius TagID guided charging system, used in conjunction with a Selectiva 4.0 charger, for example, is a game changer, as it simplifies the lead-acid battery charging process, is less labour intensive and increases sustainability, a prize goal for many businesses.
The TagID system incorporates intelligent battery sensor technology, which means it takes care of everything to maximise availability, decrease running costs and reduce internal handling. It also includes automatic battery care features such as an integrated level sensor to detect when battery water needs to be topped up, and thanks to Automatic Ionic Circulation, acid stratification in the battery is prevented, contributing to increased battery life.
In addition, deeply discharged batteries are detected and their desulphation automatically started, so no manual settings are necessary, which means reduced labour cost and maximum availability.
The TagID system also minimises energy costs through its Intelligent Equalising Charge function, which only charges the battery when it actually needs it. As a result, energy efficiency can be increased by up to 4%.
As particularly high or low temperatures can significantly reduce battery life, the TagID is also equipped with a temperature sensor that automatically adjusts charging to the battery’s temperature. This contributes to improved availability and longer battery life, even under extreme conditions.
Implementation is also made easy because by using its NFC interface, the TagID can be configured quickly via the TagID Config app, to easily enter the few necessary parameters. The TagID then automatically checks whether the voltage value entered during configuration matches the actual measured value, with deviations detected immediately and consequential damage therefore effectively prevented.
Finally, with TagID guided charging, both lead-acid wet batteries and gel batteries can be optimally charged, making it a truly efficient and sustainable method of charging traction batteries.
