The Fork Lift Truck Association’s Annual Awards for Excellence show is the industry’s most prestigious awards show; a glittering celebration of the best and the brightest the UK has to offer.
But it’s not just an awards ceremony; it’s a glamorous gala evening of entertainment at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, this year hosted with wit and panache by the flamboyant celebrity broadcaster Jonny Gould from the ITV London Tonight team. Tickets for the show on Saturday, 1st February 2014 are on sale now but organisers are worried the high demand for tickets could lead to many companies missing out.
“Last year we sold out well before the event,” said FLTA chief executive, Peter Harvey, “and this year tickets are flying out even faster, so our advice is to book now before it’s too late.”
What’s all the fuss about?
This year’s new look ceremony promises something for everyone, as well as a few new surprises along the way.
Companies of all shapes and sizes spend the first part of the evening on the edge of their seats as they battle it out for the honour of receiving an “Archie” award, the ultimate symbol of success and excellence in the fork lift industry.
There will also be a nail-biting live phone vote where the evening’s guests will decide the winner of one of the ceremony’s biggest and most hotly-contested awards.
Once the Awards ceremony has concluded there will be a mouth-watering three-course Hilton banquet – and then the evening’s entertainment moves up a notch.
There will be party games and a charity auction with once-in-a-lifetime prizes, a spectacular eight-piece live band featuring some of the UK’s best musicians, and a vinyl-melting DJ set certain to get everyone busting some strange fork lift shapes on the dance floor.
Bigger than ever
This year the Association is proud to announce a brand new Sponsor in the form of asset finance specialists Investec, who are sponsoring the Services to the Industry Award.
Also joining the event’s well-established Supporters Bibby Leasing, Curtis Instruments (UK) and The Oval Group this year will be new Supporters Aldermore Asset Finance, RAVAS and Rivermore Asset Finance, alongside the show’s Media Partners Handling & Storage Solutions magazine.
This growing support is helping to make this year’s event one of the biggest and best shows to date.
Book a table – and a room
Bookings can be made online via the FLTA website, or alternatively you can ask the FLTA office for a booking form. Reservations are normally made for tables of ten, but organisers also provide a ‘matchmaking’ service for smaller groups and individuals, so you can come as a couple, as a foursome… or any grouping you fancy.
Tickets for all this entertainment cost just £95 plus VAT for FLTA members and £135 plus VAT for non-members.
And don’t forget, if you book a room at the Hilton you can carry on enjoying the party all night… then meet up again for breakfast. The FLTA has negotiated discounted room rates so staying over has never been more affordable. Again, room bookings can be made via the FLTA website.
