Multidirectional option

UniCarriers has released the Tergo UFW multidirectional forklift for in-warehouse use.

The Tergo UFW is designed for the transport and stacking of long goods and all kind of pallet loads with the same performance as a heavy duty reach truck.

To this end, the centre distance of the forks can be hydraulically enlarged as standard. The advantage: all loads can be held conveniently and transported safely. Moreover, the Tergo ergonomics together with excellent visibility through mast, overhead guard and pillars in accordance with the ProVision concept, provides all-round vision. The truck also has a reverse travel camera.

Versatility is said to be the key selling point as it is suitable for a broad range of functions in the warehouse. The fork width can be adjusted hydraulically as standard from 560mm up to 1550mm or up to 2220mm, which simplifies the storage, retrieval and transport of loads with various lengths. With a maximum load capacity of 2,500kg, a lift height up to 9700mm (both on model UFW 250) and a top speed of 13km/h, the Tergo UFW offers maximum work efficiency even when handling pallets. For optimum manoeuvrability in narrow warehouse aisles it is possible to control the steering wheels individually. With the ergonomic hydraulic control levers, the direction of travel can be adapted from crosswise to lengthwise within a second. In confined warehouses, goods can therefore be manoeuvred quickly and within the minimum space.

One technical innovation of the UFW is the Fork Safe Zone (FSZ) system as a further safety option, which prevents the forks from colliding with the wheel arms. With this option, the position and movement of the forks are continuously detected and stopped from any position if the forks are approaching the wheel arms. As such, the FSZ helps to avoid damage both to the goods being transported and to the lift truck and it therefore effectively helps to reduce maintenance costs. The standard Dynamic Cornering Control (DCC), which detects different variables to allow quick and safe cornering, together with the S3-2 safety system improves the driving characteristics and the stability of the lift truck.
