THG chief operating officer Tom Killeen will present at Tomorrow’s Warehouse Manchester, showing how revamping warehouse operations can allow companies to build business success.

THE CONFERENCE takes place at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on 30 September 2025.

Tom will dive into a recent comprehensive consumer study encompassing 40 million records carried out by THG showing how warehouse operations can be the driving force behind business success.

THG Fulfil has pushed its delivery cutoff to 1am for next-day delivery (NDD). Tom says: “The trend is clear. Late-night fulfilment drives commercial success: our customers are receiving new orders while their competitors sleep.”

THG has invested heavily in warehouse automation to achieve this performance.

For example, the firm launched a new AutoStore system at its Omega warehouse in Warrington, featuring 120,000 bins, 100 R5 Pro robots, and advanced inbound and outbound ports. The system is expected to improve performance by 25% compared to the existing AutoStore system at the company’s Manchester warehouse.

The company deploys its own Warehouse Control System (WCS) to optimise automated equipment to its business.

Also in its Omega facility in Warrington, THG Fulfil has added a fleet of Geek+ Goods-To-Person robots. The expansion enables THG Fulfil to support category agnostic items of any size through its automation solutions, pushing 95% of all units sold through a form of automation within its fulfilment journey.

Switching attention to THG’s Manchester facility, the firm is installing 430 T-sorting robots from Libiao, a move projected to increase operational capacity by approximately 75%. The T-sorting robots are set to be operational in September 2025.

Also speaking

Tom will be joined in the session by Adam Coventry, who spent 20+ years at Boots, most notably as Director of Warehousing and is well versed in the use of automation and robotics to make a sleek logistics operation fly at an enterprise level. He asks, why are SMEs struggling to implement mobile robotics when the tech is there? Adam explores obstacles from personnel to integration, expertise and more, as well as suggesting ways forward.
