A cross-border eComm company based in the UK has achieved a daily sorting volume of up to 40,000pcs with a narrow belt sorting system solution from Wayzim.

THE PROJECT is located in an important transport hub in central England. The eComm company needed a more efficient delivery solution. To meet the on-site demands, Wayzim provided a narrow belt sorting system solution for the company.

In this solution, the mainline speed can be freely switched between two speed modes, and the sorting system can handle different types of parcels at the same time. Therefore, the sorting efficiency can be significantly improved, the manual mis-sorting rate can be reduced, and fast-growing demands can be met.

Conventional manual sorting is struggling to handle the surge in parcel volume. Especially during the peak periods, the sorting efficiency and accuracy are difficult to maintain. This affects delivery time efficiency and increases logistics costs.

The Wayzim system includes top scan cameras, belt conveyors, centreing conveyors, 146 carriers, and 17 discharge points. Even during the peak periods, this system can ensure an efficient and accurate sorting process. The combination of top scan cameras and centreing conveyors allows accurate and rapid parcel identification and classification, significantly enhancing sorting accuracy. In addition, the system is flexibly designed to switch speed between 1.1 m/s and 1.5 m/s.

The system can automatically adjust the speed based on different parcel types and project requirements, ensuring fast processing of parcels of various sizes and weights. The belt conveyor design includes two turning sections, which greatly reduces the equipment footprint, allows efficient operations within limited space, reduces unnecessary space waste, and further lowers operating costs.
