Strong engineering services on national scale

Briggs Equipment used IMHX 2019 to showcase its broad range of products supported and highlight its service capability.

Briggs is well known for offering the full range of Hyster and Yale materials handling equipment. On its stand at IMHX, the company featured a Hyster J5.5XN6 lift truck specially optimised to prevent damage to paper reels and speed up loading operations by enabling the mast to tilt forward while keeping the reel upright. Ready for shipping to a customer in the construction materials supply chain, a 3.5-tonne Hyster Fortens lift truck was also on display. This included an array of additional driver assistance features such as pedestrian awareness and safety zone lighting, cameras and object detection sensors.

Yale robots

The new Yale MC15 Robotic Counterbalance Stacker was also seen automatically moving loads in and out of racking on the stand.

“This enabled us to clearly demonstrate how robotics can be a cost effective and efficient solution for repetitive warehouse tasks,” David says. “Visitors were also interested in the Yale VNA truck on our stand, which featured Pyroban explosion protection making it well-suited to businesses handling flammable material in hazardous areas.”

JCB

One product which drew a lot of interest at the show was the new JCB electric mini digger, part of Briggs’ range of groundcare and plant solutions. It was shown mounted on a trailer, demonstrating how easy it is for utility companies, for example, to have a complete digger solution that can be transported easily.

Hako cleaning machines

At the show, the Briggs Equipment team was also promoting the importance of having a cleaning strategy and the benefits this can bring to a business. Briggs supports customers with specifying the right products to get the job done when it comes to cleaning and is the national dealer for Hako in the UK, representing the full range of pedestrian and ride-on machines.

“Businesses can come direct to Briggs for a detailed site survey that will establish the right approach to cleaning and help match floor surfaces and areas with the correct brushes, pads and cleaning products,” he says. “On the stand we displayed a Hako B120R ride-on scrubber dryer and a Sweepmaster 980R.”

Electric tug solutions

To meet the varying needs of manufacturing and storage businesses, Briggs also provides a wide range of electric tug solutions. At IMHX, the MasterMover AT300 tow product on display clearly showed those responsible for operational efficiency that Briggs has a range of different options to help reduce manual handling tasks.

To complement its materials handling equipment offering, Briggs supplies a range of aerial access equipment, meeting these needs both for customers with an ongoing requirement, as well as those simply undertaking short-term maintenance operations.

Finance solutions

BE Finance from Briggs is one option which gives customers more flexibility, with quick financing decisions made in-house to keep businesses moving. To complement this, the BE Portal fleet management tool provides total transparency in one dashboard, helping customers to optimise fleet performance and giving access to data to help them best manage their investments.

“Our exhibition stand gave visitors a small taste of what we do every single day for businesses, whether they’re in construction, chemicals, utilities, logistics, paper, manufacturing, or any kind of operation,” says David Turner, marketing manager for Briggs Equipment. “The products on display were all tuned for optimal performance in the specific application. As engineering services specialists, this is what we do day in, day out, for our customers.”

“IMHX was a snapshot of everyday life for Briggs – we provide specialist engineering services for large and small customers in the way that suits the individual business,” he says. “No matter what equipment a customer chooses, with more than 600 expert engineers located across the UK, we help keep the fleet up and running in any industry.”

“At the show, we also enjoyed the opportunity to speak to visitors that were interested in optimising their fleet with support from our vast short-term hire fleet, as well as those looking for ways to best finance new equipment,” David concludes.
