The Awards for Excellence

The Fork Lift Truck Association’s annual Awards for Excellence show is the industry’s most influential and prestigious awards show bar none – a spectacular celebration of the best and the brightest products and people the UK fork lift truck industry has to offer.

Hundreds of guests and Finalists from influential multinationals to independent dealerships across the country will converge on the International Centre in Telford on the evening of February 27th to find out who will walk away with one of the hotly-contested “Archie” awards – the industry’s highest honour – in the FLTA’s dazzling Oscar-style ceremony.

But the Awards for Excellence isn’t just a glittering awards ceremony – once the ceremony concludes and the Association has named its eleven illustrious winners, the night transforms into an exclusive after-show party.

Beginning with a sumptuous three course banquet, this is followed by an exclusive after-dinner speech by legendary British and Irish Lion and double Grand Slam winner Martin Bayfield.

Then the entertainment shifts up another gear with a spectacular musical set from one of the UK’s foremost live dance bands, followed by a late night DJ whose job it is to get every single member of the United Kingdom’s fork lift truck industry onto the dance floor!

And it doesn’t end there; this year the FLTA has organised an extra special secret treat for all its guests with a stunning visual and aural set piece that the Association refuses to reveal until the big night itself…

Our industry’s showcase

As well as being a fabulous night of non-stop entertainment, the FLTA Awards for Excellence is also a platform to showcase of the most inventive and innovative products and concepts in the fork lift truck industry today.

The event exists to recognise and reward some of the most important developments being made every year in the materials handling industry in the areas of health and safety, training, product development, environmental responsibility, customer service and operator ergonomics.

So if you don’t see something new, fresh and original at the Awards for Excellence that blows your socks off, you probably have your eyes closed.

The Association welcomes parties of all different shapes and sizes and is particularly pleased to see more and more independent fork lift truck dealerships joining in the fun every year.

Companies tend to book tables at the Awards which traditionally seat a party of ten people, so if you would like to gather your guests and have a table to yourself the FLTA is happy to provide.

The Association of course also welcomes single, couples and smaller or larger group bookings, and will seat guests together on mixed tables for smaller parties.

All in all, the Awards for Excellence offers the year’s best chance to mingle, meet new colleagues and reconnect with old friends and associates. 

For everyone working in the materials handling industry, the 27th February 2016 will be not only the best networking opportunity on the calendar, but also one of the year’s biggest and best nights of entertainment.
